Adobe Session 1

During this class, we experimented with drawing, our creativity, and some experimentation. The main aim is to understand the walk-cycle and basic animation in Photoshop.

I had actually used Photoshop a few times before for simple easy things but had never known about the animation effect in there. I was shocked to know that I can make an animation through Photoshop. At first, I thought it was going to be very hard, but the teacher was able to explain it in a clear way that is easily understandable. Though I experienced some problems when drawing, since I was using my laptop, it was sometimes hard to draw using the laptop pad. I had to redraw my carrot a few times to get the desired shape. Illustrating digitally using Adobe is kind of something new to me, I’d say that I’m not totally familiar with it yet as I am used to drawing digitally using only my phone. What I have also realized is that we have to understand the way drawings work, and in this case, we had to draw the directions where the hand and feet go in order to produce a logical drawing. I have always found adobe very interesting, but never really had the effort to fully commit to it. I am curious to explore and learn more about what we can create using the application. Especially when they have tons of tools available. Since redownloading the app, I used it several times to crop some images for my other projects because it is easier and neater to do it on a laptop with the right apps rather than on a phone. Using the app has really helped me, resulting in less time needed to crop the images. This is one of the pieces of evidence of how it has changed my working methods, where I used to crop out images on the phone which takes more and longer time and how I shifted to using Photoshop on the laptop which makes the process way faster. I guess this is what happens when you start to learn other things, and I am delighted that I have this adobe class. I know that the lessons I got in class will come in handy when needed.

Thankfully, I was able to follow the class until the last step. I wasn’t confused about using any tools, so I didn’t ask any questions to my teacher. Although if I did experience some trouble in future classes, I will definitely ask my teacher for help so I could really understand the techniques.
