The idea that I plan to show from my mood board is someone who is exploring a busy city. The person has an edgy style, with a bold and daring personality. The images on my board show the busiest central areas of London with their beautiful building architecture, also with pictures of how I imagined the model will dress. At the start, I was planning to shoot the video at night for the vibe, but my model wasn’t able to do it, so we had to do it during the day. The perfume was Hugo Boss Night Eau de Toilette spray for men.

I lowered the brightness of all of the videos so that all of them would be dark and grungy, the theme I was aiming for. Looking at the result, it looks like the person is someone who is structured, enjoying the city, chilling on weekends going shopping, and exploring. Doing some daily things such as going to shops and crossing the road. However, I do feel that the pace of the video is a bit too slow. I wanted to edit it with more colors so that it looks more playful but it wasn’t the mood I planned for. I had taken these videos so that the result would show how someone who is independent spends her time alone in the city, having some quality time with herself. I matched all the clips to the beats of the song. I had chosen that particular song as it has a slow beat, I was going to go with another song that is way more upbeat but felt like it doesn’t match with the videos. I liked how the camera effects add character to the video, making it more interesting and pleasing to watch.

The initial outcome wasn’t edited but I tried adding some grain and camera filters to the video for more textures. Other than that, I also tried using some color filters on the video but most of them didn’t stand out to me. I did all of the edits through my phone, and it wasn’t a problem for me at all. The most challenging part of this project is deciding what and how to capture the videos. I’d say that I wasn’t completely impressed with my camera work as i felt like there was a lack of movement and exploration, and I think this is one of my weaknesses I should improve. I need to explore more, and not just stick with my usual techniques and angles. I really enjoyed the editing process as I was able to try out different styles. Seeing the result and being pleased with it is very intriguing for me. Especially the part where I get to match the beat of the audio with the video clips. Though choosing what audio to use can be confusing sometimes. Next time I’d like to explore making video media with a different style, rather than dark and chill, I want to try making something fun and colorful. Taking a lot of videos would definitely be advantageous so that I am able to have more options to choose from. Overall, I really liked doing this project and would definitely be very happy to do more.
