Induction Class 2

We had to create textile print ideas with continuous line drawings of people using mixed papers and pens. These will then be used as a pattern for individually chosen bags. Other than that, we were also given a chance to experiment with image manipulation and illustration.

As I had no clue what I was going to do that day with all the materials, I was a bit overwhelmed as the process felt like it was moving very rapidly. I seem to overthink when I was collaging and drawing instead of just letting it flow loosely but it was very interesting working with different textures. When it came to collaging the background of the drawings, I personally think that it would have been more appealing if I left the blank space on the sides rather than in the middle for more character and texture. However, drawing with my non-dominant hand, something I never really did before, was surprisingly fun. I’d be happy to do it again honestly. I also really enjoyed experimenting with turning the illustrations into patterns as most of the results came in as a surprise to me, turning into something totally different that I hadn’t expected at all from my drawings. In the end, I had to finish drawing my work at home because I might have overanalyzed my techniques during the process.

Instead of overanalyzing, I would like to let my ideas flow freely next time, giving me the opportunity to be more experimental. This way, I believe I will be able to improve in terms of producing more options for me to choose from and also allow me to have a more productive creative process. I will be able to become more involved and focus clearly on the tasks, resulting in better performance. I need to be prepared for the work and manage my time better in the next lesson, to ensure that I can get a good grasp of the assignments. I believe by doing this, it will help improve my learning process and completion of tasks within the given time.
